The US Structural Heart Training & Development Team is growing! Come to be part of one of the fastest-growing businesses at Medtronic. You will be an important member of our fast-paced, high-visibility US-focused Training Team where we strive every day to help restore health to patients with heart valve disease. We are hiring a Sales Leadership & Development Sr Manager (high-level individual contributor) who will lead the development and execution of programs to enhance field leadership development and selling skills. This is a highly impactful role that can extend far by way of enriching career growth for field sales and leaders and influencing selling strategy within the Structural Heart business unit. This role will also be responsible for new leader onboarding and high-potential Leadership Development Programs.

This is a highly collaborative role where you will work across functional areas of sales leadership, marketing, clinical training, external vendors, and the Americas Sales Performance Academy. You will focus on annual planning, strategic training, and course development facilitation. A Day in the Life:

  • Lead and collaborate with Sales Communication Manager on consultative selling sales methodology for US Field Organization
  • Lead and identify coaching program for sales methodology and roll-out plan
  • Lead creation & delivery of new leader onboarding program to be executed up to once per month
  • Lead creation and deliver very of high potential leadership development program
  • Collaborates with Clinical Sr Manager to align trainings together
  • Responsible for planning, initiating, monitoring, tracking and/or prioritizing sales process improvement initiatives and facilitating successful, on-time, and within budget execution.
  • Sets clear direction and management that aligns with defined practices and policies and enhances the organization's support function necessary to meet established sales or market share targets.
  • Work across organization such as Sales, Marketing, Global Comms & Corp Marketing to ensure adequate support to the sales and marketing functions.
  • Direct day-to-day activities of multiple work-stream teams through managing project plans, resourcing, status reporting, resolving issues, identifying project risks and accountability for deliverables across multiple functional organizations.
  • Establish meaningful metrics.
  • Responsible for project performance, risk management, administration, financial management, budgeting and issue resolution.
  • Work with sales leaders to assess current and expected leadership development needs for existing and future sales managers.
  • Work within the Sales Performance Academy to meet the needs of the field teams and engage with external vendors when needed.
  • Build and execute annual plans to meet the assessed training and development needs of the field sales and sales leadership teams in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee sales training coordination of field sales trainers to support new hires and regional needs.
  • Maintain a close relationship with field HR partner; align training with talent planning; meet or exceed organizational objectives for diversity and inclusion.
  • Develop and implement a robust system to measure training efficacy, satisfaction, and impact. Key performance indicators must align with the overall sales performance academy objectives and will indicate success. Coordinate with Sales Performance Analytics Manager on monthly dashboard.
  • Work closely with our program coordinator to determine the number of course offerings, set course dates, deliver field communications, monitor registration, meet budget needs, ensure completion of attendee course pre-work, and maintain a high attendance rate.
  • Create a well-defined post-course follow-up process that ensures training concepts are reinforced and attendees put what they’ve learned into practice.
  • Collaborate with US clinical training teams to help deliver new leader sales training.
  • Collaborating with Sales Operations to identify tool for sales methodologlogy
  • Collaborate with US marketing teams to create synergies between course content and marketing/sales messaging.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement and repeatable success.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends in adult learning and virtual education tools.
  • Align development offerings and course content with the mission and strategic narrative of Medtronic.
  • Align to the Sales Performance Academy and Commercial Capabilities pan-Medtronic vision.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 15 years in a role involving training and development (13 years with an Advanced Degree)
  • Previous experience creating and leading sales methodology and leadership development programs


Nice to Have:

  • Advanced Degree, ideally in Adult Education
  • Experience building out best-in-class sales enablement and leadership development-focused training programs within med-device, or healthcare industry

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive plan, which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals. Learn more about Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP) here .

The provided base salary range is used nationally in the United States (except in Puerto Rico and certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
