Purpose

An Underground Utility Inspector is responsible for the routine inspection, reporting, and minor repairs of the underground distribution infrastructure. The successful candidate must designate a preferred show-up location from the Kodiak or Neosho Service Center.


Accountabilities

  • Have or be able to learn a broad spectrum of tasks and job duties required of linework.
  • Safe over the road driving and jobsite operations of equipment including Digger Derrick, Bucket Truck, and various line building equipment.
  • Ability to follow approved work practices involving dead line and live line working procedures on Distribution and Transmission Systems.
  • Capable of responding (as required) to calls for the restoration of the Transmission and Distribution System both during business hours and outside business hours.
  • Ability to expertly represent the company and the company brand while working with customers.
  • Capable of working within a team environment with a positive self-motivating attitude and good work ethics.
  • Ability to utilize electronic equipment for analysis and data collection and demonstrate competency with computers.
  • Ability to communicate with all Line Operations Managers.

Education and Experience

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have or be able to acquire a Class A CDL Driver’s License.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have completed structured apprenticeship program or equivalent.
  • Must pass 3-part wood pole climbing test, to verify safe climbing ability, within 30 days of employment.
