Job Duties

The Training Support Specialist will report to the Director of Policy & Education and the Certification and Compliance Attorney. This role serves as the first point of contact for all inquiries regarding Court-Appointed Counsel Certification, Standards of Practice for certified counsel, and attorney/employee educational events. This position is responsible for managing the Attorney Certification System (ACeS) database to process attorney applications and disseminate system reports. This position will also assist with all details and phases of agency-hosted continued legal education (CLE) training programs, employee development training, and other special events. Experience with databases, mass mailings, creating and editing reports, and writing business correspondence and memos is required. Experience using Microsoft Office, Google Business, and Zoom applications is required. Additional competencies include the ability to provide excellent customer service, reply to written and phone correspondence promptly, proofread, remain organized, perform routine tasks, and take directions from multiple sources. Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of an Associate’s Degree is required.
The qualified applicant will have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Providing excellent customer service is essential in this position while serving both agency attorneys and court-appointed attorneys.
The position requires the ability to work independently and research/answer/solve questions and problems.
The ability to maintain a positive, respectful attitude with co-workers and attorneys is required.
The position requires a working knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and manual and electronic filing systems.
Experience sorting databases and performing searches, using mail merge, creating and editing reports, and writing business correspondence is required.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
The position requires the ability to interpret policies and procedures, multi-task, determine priorities, manage time, remain organized, and follow directions from multiple sources.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is preferred.
Prior experience providing administrative and clerical support in a criminal justice and/or legal environment is preferred.
Prior experience providing customer service both by email and/or by phone is preferred.
