James Moore & Co is seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a Training and Development Specialist. This position has the unique opportunity to foster growth within our organization, and contribute to the success of others. This role will advise staff and support managers of the firm as they mentor and develop their team members through the oversight of the career advising and performance evaluation process. Additionally, you will inspire each of our five office's internal committees to be intentional about James Moore's culture and wellness initiatives, fostering stronger interpersonal relationships throughout the organization.

This is an in-office position with work from home flexibility that can be located out of any of our five Florida offices - Gainesville, Tallahassee, Ocala, DeLand, or Daytona Beach.

What you will do in this Training and Development Specialist role:

  • Creating training and development plans that address these needs and expectations for various departments and roles within the organization, ranging from technical skills to soft skills.
  • Managing training & development projects, working with subject matter experts, management, and trainers.
  • Managing the on-boarding training program for new and lateral hires.
  • Identifies appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience learning styles, nature of training being delivered and audience location.
  • Ensuring program administration needs are met, to include communications, scheduling, roster management, materials production, facilities coordination, participant tracking, etc.
  • Identifying needs and provides recommendations for utilizing outside resources. Sources third party training vendors and manages those vendors.
  • Conducting formal training program assessments to identify gaps between learning objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Managing and coordinates certification and re-certification process for accounting and non-accounting roles within the organization within the Learning Management System.
  • Tracking regulations and requirements for various professional certifications and ensures compliance.
  • Providing feedback and coaching to staff in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Managing JMCo Wellness program and answers employee questions.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a training related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mix of technical and training and development roles.
  • Working knowledge of instructional design principles and concepts.
  • This position will be local to North Central Florida. You must be able to travel to our five office locations up to 25% of the time to perform the duties of this position.
  • Experience in training related to accounting or in a public accounting setting preferred.
  • Experience starting and establishing a training department preferred.
  • Knowledge of learning theories and principles including adult learning theory.
  • Knowledge of training and development practices and methods including needs assessment and instruction design for instructor led, virtual, online, and blended training.
