The Role at a Glance
The Trading Services Representative position is located within the LFN Investment Services business unit; a highly visible, fast paced call center team responsible for providing trade execution, involving equities, options, unit investment trust, and mutual fund transactions for financial advisors and end clients. This position supports oversight in margin activity, corporate actions, execution quality review, and trade reporting. #LI-REMOTE
What you'll be doing
  • Executes agency and principal trades in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, UITs, and options
  • Helps ensure both firm and representative compliance by observing and abiding by securities regulations
  • Available at all times during business hours to answer calls directed to the Trade call center
  • Processes inbound account update requests including periodic investments and redemptions, fee disclosures, Letters of Intent, and others
  • Maintains a broad knowledge base of the securities industry including: regulatory and market events, investment products, operational processes, operational methodologies and technology
  • Develops a strong understanding of customer service and provides assistance to both registered representatives, investment advisors and retail clients related to LFN policies, products, and trading procedures
  • Follows risk management procedures and has the ability to quickly assess and take action to minimize customer and firm risk
  • Reviews trades to ensure trade execution quality and adherence to firm and industry regulations
  • Investigates, researches, and corrects issues related to trading and account activity
  • Educates and trains registered representatives and their clients by determining their true needs, provides alternative solutions when necessary, and effectively explains the specific details of each product, process, or service
  • Assist internal operations departments by providing back-up support, coordinating processors to expedite transfers, settlements, research, and complex problem resolution
  • Establishes and builds partnerships with registered representatives of all distribution groups, clearing firm, and product sponsors
  • Resolves registered representative concerns by obtaining details, identifying most efficient method of handling, and evaluating risks to all parties before taking action
  • Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by making suggestions for improvement; learning new skills, procedures, and processes
  • Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
  • Remains current in profession and industry trends.
  • Performs other duties as required.
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
  • 3 – 5+ Years of client service experience aligned with the responsibilities for this position. For candidates with an Associate’s Degree or above, 0-1 year of client service experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • Bachelor’s degree in lieu of required experience
  • FINRA Series 7 License within 90 Days Upon Hire – Current license strongly preferred
  • FINRA Series 63 License within 90 Days Upon Hire - Current license strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment; Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Demonstrated solid relationship management skills with internal and/or external clients (e.g. management, peers, colleagues, customers).
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
Nice-to-haves:
  • Prior experience in home office operations for a financial or securities investment firm.
  • Prior experience on a customer service inbound call center team
