The Role:

Responsible for Technical Knowledge of Atlas Copco Tools and Assembly Systems on-site. Excellent communication, interactive, computer and product skill sets will be required to help resolve tooling, production, or personnel issues. In addition for conformance to all Tool and Equipment Bulletins relating to setting, auditing and all quality control of the released torque specifications for all bolted joints on the vehicle.


This is a 1st SHIFT position. The hours are from 7:00a.m. to 3:30p.m. Central Time.


The Torque Technician Will Be Responsible For:

  • Technical knowledge levels acceptable to requirements of the contract
  • Interfacing directly with the customer
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop a robust process for joint analysis.
  • Subject Matter Expert will perform line walks and troubleshooting
  • 100% Accuracy of the torque programs including angle measurements and speeds Full knowledge of the Torque to Yield (TAY) Process control plan and all quality mandates associated with it
  • Maintain the legal document retention standards for data collection
  • Set up error proofing strategies for any fastener put under containment
  • Work with cross-functional team to collect data to determine final solutions identified by the plant.
  • Manage and report out on OID o Understand at a high level torque and ergonomics to improve process, operator safety and throughput.
  • Review current operators processes
  • Data collection from power focus and power mac controllers and provide an analysis of the findings to solve torque related issues


What We Expect of You:

  • Experience servicing Atlas Copco fastening tools, torque theory, and fastening knowledge are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working on pneumatic and DC power tooling in a production environment or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Calibrations preferred but not required
  • Experience with assembly tooling preferred but not required
  • Able to handle noisy environments
