Job description

Dixon is looking for a candidate to work in the Tool & Die Department in the Dixon Innovation Center. This person will be trained to set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts. Tool & Die develops, constructs, and alters a wide variety of jigs, fixtures, and custom machined solutions. In addition, this person will be trained to use a variety of cutting and power tools used to alter and finish various castings and bar stocks. Candidate will use calibrated measuring instruments to machine and inspect parts with close tolerances made from a variety of metals and composites. Ideal candidate will be fluent in reading and utilizing G-Code and can learn and apply CAM software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate manual lathes & mills with ability to learn and apply setup processes
  • Set up & Operate CNC lathes, mills, and wire EDM.
  • Use various cutting & power operated tools to prepare and finish parts, fixtures, & jigs.
  • Learn to utilize castings and bar stock to produce parts, fixtures, jigs, and machined solutions.
  • Measure and inspect projects using calibrated measuring instruments to match print specifications.
