Job description

OpSource Staffing in Spartanburg is currently hiring a Textile Lab Technician for a local textile company. These will be B Shift hours from 8pm--8am, working 3 days on/4 days off/4 days on/3 days off. This position performs performance, chemical and physical testing of samples such as fabrics, garments, accessories, and other soft goods among others to determine performance properties as well as other characteristics.

Previous textile experience is preferred, but similar type of experience will also be considered.

Job Duties

--Works under general supervision to perform the following job functions, generally:
--Performs routine laboratory testing, following the relevant company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and methods. Validate performance on methods as required.
--Test to applicable standards and customer-specific protocols.
--Demonstrates good and safe work habits and enforces a clean working environment.
--Perform general upkeep and housekeeping of the laboratory
--Accurately complete and maintain all laboratory reports.
--May be required to receive, sort, log client samples into the database, and prepare sample labels.
--May be required to archive, return, or dispose of client samples as per the established procedure.
--Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Quality Assurance/Quality Control checks on equipment.
--Ensure all personal protective equipment (PPE) relevant for tasks is worn at all times.
--Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
--Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must have the following:

• Proficient in the use of Excel and Word Computer Programs
• Familiar with Fiber, Yarn, and Fabric Properties
• Company will provide Testing Procedures Training

Pay is $16.02/hr. May have to train on A Shift, and the pay would be $15.27/hr.
