Job Description: Testing Technician
Work Location: 100 Little Santee Road, Colfax NC
Shifts: Monday to Thursday 7am – 4:30pm and Fridays 7am – 11:30am.
Pay: $21 per hour , or more depending on experience

Testing Technician
Overview
The purpose of this position is to set up and conduct tests with oversight. In the test lab there are two different areas of testing: Research and Development and Certified testing. This position will be responsible for testing in both areas, ensuring standard methods and protocols are followed. This position will ensure that all testing that is requested from a Manager, Supervisor or Lead is completed in a timely manner and with acceptable results.
INITIATIVE & INGENUITY: Work priorities are determined by Engineering requests, supervisor’s instructions or Lead Coordinator's instructions. The Test Tech should ensure proper set up and execution of tests. Individual must be self-motivated working with limited supervision while following verbal and written instructions.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Under specific direction of the department lead, Testing Supervisor and Plant Manager, where goals and objectives are established. Execute all testing in a timely manner ensuring the utmost accuracy in results.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS: Errors may be serious involving thousands or even millions in wasted money if test results are not accurate. Maintain proper documentation of test methods, results, and data analysis.
CONTACT WITH OTHER: While the job requires mostly independent working, there will be times where teamwork will be necessary, clear, concise communications skills are important so as to not create confusion within the department.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Flow of work and character of duties involve performing lifting, pulling, prying, etc. Normal and corrected vision are necessary with manual coordination some walking, bending, twisting, sitting, stooping, and lifting of approximately 50 lbs. Must be mechanically adaptable to using hand tools.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT: Damage to any equipment would result in a loss for the company. This position must ensure that all weekly preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis.
WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent. Must be able to withstand heat in excess of 95 degrees.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as specified in the Endura’s Safety Manual. This responsibility necessitates wearing of proper personal protective equipment (i.e. steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs and ear muffs).
Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others (written and verbally)
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Approximately 18-24 months of related work experience is required.
  • Must be capable of reading tape measure, calipers, and other measuring equipment.
  • Must be able to use all Endura test equipment including, Test Wall, Test Chamber, Thermal Chambers, Salt Spray, Cycle Testers, as well as various handheld devices such as force gages and PH meters.
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must have good computer skills
