Expression Networks is looking for a Test Engineer to join our development team in Washington, DC. You will provide focused development support for our software engineering teams, as well as onsite test development support to assure our solutions operate as intended across security fabrics. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing software tests – targeted on code-based tests – to fully vet our engineering solutions across multiple domains and use cases. You will participate in daily integration meetings and collaborate with technical staff and external stakeholders/clients to determine test strategies in an iterative environment.

Your outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills will help you succeed in planning, reporting, and managing test execution.

Job Responsibilities:

• Partner with Program Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Engineers, and Data Scientists across the organization where appropriate to understand customer requirements, design prototypes, and the proper scoping of test and tracking metrics for performance.
• Translate business requirements and software engineering objectives into testable code and – ideally – user view tests of our developed systems.
• Validate and document, either automatically or manually, the outcome of tests performed to ensure performance and usability targets are met.
• Leverage collaboration tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence) to retain documentation associated with the tests developed and executed.
• Identify patterns within test results that indicate potential infrastructure or software engineering issues and report for remediation.
• Design, implement, execute, and debug test cases and scripts.
• Find bugs, defects, and regressions and verify fixes.

Security Clearance:

• US Citizenship is required.
  
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher clearance.

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in Software Development including one or more Java, React, Node.js, Python, Angular, C++, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript.
• 2-3 additional years of experience in Testing; planning/developing test cases and test scripts, authoring test cases, managing test execution, and QA reporting
• Understanding of QA methodologies and testing best practices.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience working with collaboration and progress-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Slack, etc.)
• Experience in the use of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Background in one or more of the following:
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Existing Secret Clearance or greater
• Current CompTIA Security+ Certification
• Experience with Hadoop and Cloud Architectures

Location:

Hybrid in DMV area, with the ability to attend periodic events and deployments at our client site (Annapolis and Northern Virginia)
