Technical Director/ Media Assistant

DESCRIPTION: East Texas Baptist University invites applications for a full-time staff position as Technical Director/Production Manager for the School of Communication and Performing Arts. The position begins August 2022 and will include providing leadership of the technical work (specific to set, props, and lighting elements of shows) and supervising a team of student workers assigned to complete technical theatre work for all theatre productions. The TD/PM will be responsible for teaching and implementing all OSHA and University safety protocols and guidelines, while also providing ongoing and consistent support to the Director of Media Services. If the successful candidate has the requisite experience and expertise to design various elements of the shows, this work may be added to the position.

QUALIFICATIONS: ETBU seeks a qualified individual with an undergraduate degree in theatre arts and professional training and experience in technical theatre. Candidates should have professional experience and a record of professional involvement. Candidates must have the ability to communicate well with students and colleagues. Candidates must possess an appreciation and commitment to serve in Christian higher education. Candidates must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and must live lifestyles consistent with the University’s biblical standards of morality, temperance, stewardship, as well as membership and active participation in the staff members’ local Christian church.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required
