Job description
The School of the Cathedral, located in Baltimore City Maryland, is seeking a Kindergarten full-time elementary teacher for 2023-24. The teacher is responsible for implementing daily standard-based lessons to support student’s application of developmentally appropriate skills and concepts in all subject areas, and to engage parents and colleagues in support of the curriculum as prescribed by the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, engage and inspire students to think confidently and independently
- Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times
- Integrate the use of technology appropriately and effectively into the curriculum
- Establish reasonable standards for student achievement
- Create an environment for a love of learning and intellectual curiosity to blossom
- Foster opportunities for children to grow in social and emotional development
- Develop and document daily lesson plans consistent with Archdiocese of Baltimore curriculum guidelines
- Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Interact effectively and respond to all parent communications in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
- Participate in faculty meetings, collaborative planning meetings, retreats, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff and administration
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Degree in early childhood or elementary education
- MSDE certification in early childhood education or elementary education or the ability to obtain certification in one to two years
- Experience teaching at the elementary level
- Knowledge of the Catholic faith preferred
