Essential Job Functions:

  • Act as first contact for TAP services, represent the TAP program in a professional manner, and grow the program to become premier Autism resource service in the region.
  • Train Resource Coordinators at other network agencies engaging in Community Visioning and Community Outreach to assist families with referrals for diagnosis and screening, treatment, and other family supports.
  • Meet with families across identified geographic areas to assess local needs and resources (Resource Mapping) and train others to provide services.
  • Assist other network agencies in developing appropriate strategic plans based on Resource Mapping.
  • Coordinate and host community trainings including, but not limited to:
  • First Responder training
  • Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics
  • New Diagnosis Family Orientation Program
  • Early Intervention/Day Care/Respite Workers
  • Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule Training
  • Serve as the primary contact in our designated region for families seeking services and provide appropriate referrals including diagnostic services, Early Intervention services, educational resources, family support groups, financial assistance, etc.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee a Family Resource Room including the purchase and cataloging of materials, establishing a lending protocol, developing marketing and other custom materials (i.e. home teaching kits, visual aids, etc.) and coordinate such efforts with The Autism Program (TAP) and the Illinois Early Childhood Intervention Clearinghouse.
  • Train other network agencies to support the creation of additional Family Resource Rooms.
  • In accordance with TAPs family-centered philosophy, work outside of normal business hours to respond to the needs of families, providers, and community resources.
  • Develop additional TAP deliverables and implement current deliverables successfully. Assist with completing monthly/quarterly/annual budget and reporting related to TAP grant.
  • Provide assistance in developing and implementing other grant-funded projects such as IC/DD grant and other future grants to enhance services to CTF Illinois, families, and the overall community.
  • Facilitate support meetings and services for people with Autism in the community and with CTF Illinois.
  • Carry out research, data collection and publication efforts in collaboration with other programs, and maintain current knowledge of the field via professional journals and ongoing in-service training.
  • Maintan a working knowledge of all applicable autism trainings and curiculums.
  • Maintain involvement in networking, including but not limited to, Illinois Self-Advocacy Alliance, Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities, legislative liaisons, committees, other meetings, etc.
  • Evaluate and oversee services and monitor programming to ensure we are meeting the required standards and the needs of individuals served, through regular observations and by routinely reviewing a sample of the monthly documentation.
  • Support efforts to seek relevant grant funding to enhance and sustain the program.
  • Responsible for financial management within the budget provided, as it applies to all areas, i.e. staffing, supplies (including food), ancillary services, equipment, etc.
  • Compliance with all DHS, IDPH, DCFS and other applicable regulations, rules and standards.
  • Provide oversight and preparedness for all DHS, IDPH and other surveys/audits for assigned area.
  • Ensure the overall maintenance of the program, working with the Maintenance Director/Manager and or the Administrator to coordinate improvements and repairs as necessary.
  • Promote and maintain effective working relationships within the agency and with other organizations and individuals whose own activities directly support the organization's autism services.
  • Meet regularly with directors of other autism groups to facilitate coordination of autism efforts.
  • Interface with college programs to recruit student trainees and develop internship/externship training experiences.
  • Coordinate/schedule resources for TAP/BCBA and other services at the program site.
  • Schedule/Coordinate afterhours activities and calendar for people served by CTF Illinois and community members as related to autism and developmental disabilities.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:*

  • Maintain working knowledge of current Federal and State regulations, HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, as well as professional standards, and make/assist in the development of and/or recommend policies and procedures. Oversee compliance of these regulations and standards.
  • Additional travel, as required, including some overnight travel for attendance at trainings, seminars, workshops, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Volunteers assigned to the Family Resource Room and/or related programs.

Required Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • Minimum of bachelors degree in special education, social services, or other relevant field.
  • Excellent customer services skills required.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with persons with autism spectrum disorders and/or their families.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check, including IDPH Health Care Workers' Registry.
  • Possess valid drivers license with acceptable driving record per company requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
