Job Description:

The Systems Engineer is an electronics and systems focused Engineer that will lead design efforts to support sustaining and new efforts related to corrosion monitoring instrumentation and online/offline systems. The systems engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex systems that meet the needs of an organization and deliver solutions that will help us create a world where human lives and the environment are protected from the impacts of corrosion.

In this role you will deliver well-thought-out technical work. You will lead systems engineering related efforts and collaborate closely with fellow engineers, team members, and external parties. You will take complete ownership of your work. To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience providing solutions and design efforts of several successful electrical and systems related products. You will be a self-starter and seek to resolve technical design and customer challenges. Overall, the systems engineer is responsible for ensuring that the systems they design and develop meet the organization's needs and operate effectively and efficiently. They play a critical role in ensuring the organization's success and require a strong technical background and problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Designing and Developing Systems: The systems engineer is responsible for designing and developing new systems or improving existing systems. They work with other engineers and stakeholders to identify requirements, create system architecture, and develop specifications for the system.

2. Testing and Evaluation: The systems engineer tests the system to ensure it meets the requirements and specifications. They evaluate the system's performance, identify issues, and recommend solutions.

3. Implementation and Maintenance: Once the system is developed and tested, the systems engineer is responsible for implementing it into the organization's infrastructure. They also maintain and support the system to ensure it operates smoothly and meets the needs of the organization.

4. Risk Assessment and Management: The systems engineer is responsible for identifying potential risks associated with the system and developing strategies to mitigate those risks.

5. Documentation: The systems engineer is responsible for documenting the system design, development, testing, and maintenance processes to ensure the system can be understood and maintained by other members of the team.

6. Collaboration: The systems engineer works closely with other engineers, stakeholders, and departments to ensure the system meets the organization's needs.

7. Technical Support: The systems engineer provides technical support to end-users and other stakeholders to resolve issues related to the system.

Required Competencies:

· Experience with industrial embedded systems and communications including firmware and software interface and troubleshooting

· Design experience with low power / voltage instrumentation design

· Works well in teams, including a sense of urgency and commitment to deadlines

· Passion for continuous improvement and internal and external customer satisfaction

Position Requirements:

· BS degree in Information System, Electrical and/or Computer Engineering

· Minimum of 3 years experience in the design/support of complex electronic systems

Preferred Experience:

· Industrial instrumentation design for global Oil and Gas, Chemical, and/or Water industries

· Knowledge of and direct experience in designing for hazardous locations including (ATEX, CSA, UL, others)

· Knowledge: RoHS, 4-20mA, Modbus, HART, Wireless HART, ISA100, OPC, Serial

Compensation:

· Base salary DOE

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
