The Data Engineer helps evaluate existing applications or systems to determine integration requirements, assists in selecting the integration approach and is involved in developing, implementing, optimizing, and overseeing internally used conceptual and logical data systems, applying sound technical management and development principles throughout the development lifecycle to produce high-quality solutions.
Position Type: This is a regular, full-time position.- Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $100,758.00 and $125,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate with the business intelligence team to gather and document requirements for the database design and model.
- Communicate with key stakeholders to understand the company’s data migration needs and data reporting requirements and troubleshoot data inconsistencies that might arise.
- Asist in system development and data solutions that meet the current and future goals of the organization.
- Analyze current systems and processes to suggest and implement best practices to improve current or new technologies to ensure data quality and high data availability.
- Maintain existing data models and assist in redesign of any existing data models, as necessary.
- Engage with the development team to implement the database, data warehouse, data migration and reporting models, analyze metadata, and improve query performance.
- Involved in developing the ETL process from various systems and data sources and determining and managing data cleaning requirements.
- Asist in determining the data security needs, implement security solutions, and adjust access to the data and reports as needed.
- Document new and current processes to capture design/specifications.
- Other duties as required.
Share Your Expertise .
Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science and 3-5 years of experience as a system engineer in a data centric environment; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL; additional experience with DBT, C#, .Net Core and VB.Net is a plus.
- Experience with databases, data warehouses, and modeling data for report consumption; familiarity with various database systems such as Snowflake, Redshift, Microsoft SQL Server, etc. is a plus.
- Experience with the ETL process and an appropriate tool, such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SSIS, Fivetran, etc.
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience working with source control, preferably GIT.
- Ability to effectively communicate with business and development teams to gather requirements for reporting needs.
- Ability to think openly and systemically to find solutions that meet the organization’s current needs and future analytic goals.
- Must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently as a self-starter who can investigate and analyze the current environment with little direction.
- Familiarity with ERP Systems, preferably NetSuite.
- Familiarity with server-less concepts and systems such as AWS/Azure.
