Position Summary: The DSO is looking for a talented and diligent Systems Administrator to maintain, administer, and ensure that all computing operations run with optimal performance and security. In this role, the candidate will install hardware and software, troubleshoot issues, and protect our critical information, systems, and assets. The ideal candidate will be eager to use and grow their technological skills, lead initiatives, and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: • Configure and maintain the networked computer system, including hardware, system software, and applications • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly • Ensure data is stored securely and backed up regularly • Monitor system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, and network segments • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions • Develop documentation and maintain a working knowledgebase of procedures and resolutions for use by the IT Department and DSO staff • Research and recommend new approaches to improve the networked computer system • Resolve emergency issues promptly, and assist with special events as required; includes outside working hours when necessary Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required • 3-5 years of network administration or system administration experience, including: o Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems o Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 o Creating, or migrating to, a cloud-based server environment o Understanding of appropriate systems or network security policies and practices • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols • Working knowledge of virtualization; experience with Scale Computing a plus • Demonstrated problem solving and crisis management skills. Strong conceptual and analytical skills • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Attention to detail, strong organization skills and demonstrated punctuality. Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with a diverse range of coworkers • Successful experience working in, and contributing to, a collaborative, team environment Desired Qualifications: • Project management experience • Experience with Mac and iOS devices in a Microsoft environment • System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, or other network related fields • A working knowledge of Point-of-Sale hardware and software • Demonstrated experience and investment in issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion Additional Information: • This is a salaried, non-union position • Successful candidates must be available to work a varying schedule, including occasional nights and weekends to meet the needs of the DSO’s performance schedule and resolve emergency issues promptly Physical Requirements: This role primarily works in an office environment, and frequently has prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen.
