An Survey Helper/Grade Checker performs many duties to assist field engineering work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Party Chief with instrumentation as directed
- Load/unload survey equipment from truck
- Responsible for assisting in setting up and taking down survey equipment
- Assures that all needed supplies are on hand i.e. flagging, nails, hammers, lumber, sweeper etc.
- Call out survey elevations, hammer grade stakes and hold survey rod
- Maintain a valid driver's license
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedure
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 0-1 years experience assisting in surveying procedures, operations and providing survey rod readings.
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Light lifting is required.
Walking and standing occupy most of the work day.
Overtime work is often required.
May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather
