Supported Employment Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of new programs including Employment Supports and Pre-Employment Transition services.
  • Act as a liaison with the local intellectual and developmental disability authorities and other entities to further the goals of employment and community supports for people with IDD.
  • In coordination with supervisor, assess referrals for adults and children requiring supports and coordinate program admissions.
  • Manage and coordinate vocational and employment programs.
  • Establish employment and volunteer opportunities for persons with disabilities.
  • Network with business leaders in the community to increase employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
  • Ensure programs are in compliance with state licensing and reporting standards.
  • Maintain and follow all regulations with regards to wage and hour and other regulatory agencies.
  • Supervise, evaluate and provide direct support to job coaches.
  • Use disciplinary procedures as necessary in coordination with human resources and program specialist
  • Review timesheets, approve timecards, PTO, and attendance requests for subordinates in Futures’ approved time and attendance system.
  • Have a working knowledge of all agency policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Complete 24 hours of training per year, including mandatory trainings and trainings as assigned by your immediate supervisor or administration.
  • Facilitate staff meetings as needed.
  • Participate and attend agency and individual team meetings.
  • Assist with maintaining agency vehicles.
  • Have a working knowledge of incident management and ensure incidents are report as required.
  • Be able to identify work safety issues, injuries, and report immediately.
  • Use of positive and respectful written and verbal communication to all team members
  • Build collaborative relationships with all team members
  • Utilize and model everyday life philosophy in supporting individuals
  • Cover shifts as a job coach as needed.
  • Weekend or evening availability may be needed.
  • Completes any and all related tasks as requested by immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record
  • Associates Degree preferred, High School Diploma requried
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working people with intellectual disabilities
  • Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
  • CESP and ACRE certification preferred, training available upon hire.
  • Supervisory experience Preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Physical Demands: Must be able to perform the following functions:

  • Physically lift 40-100 pounds unassisted
  • Physically lift 100 pounds or more assisted
  • Reach above head and below knees
  • Endure repetitive motions with right and left hands
  • Reach out as to pull and push a wheelchair
  • Make twisting and bending motions at the waist
  • Have good reaction response to protect personal space

Medical Physical: Managers are required to complete a physical and Mantoux TB test every 2 years post offer and every two years thereafter.

Working Conditions: Employee supports individuals on a regular basis who have an intellectual disability and could have co-occurring mental health disorders that present with challenging behaviors including physical and verbal aggression, self-harm, and property destruction. The employee is occasionally exposed to individuals who have the potential to be carrying a communicable disease.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
