The Key Program is seeking to build a team of per diem Support Workers to assist the direct care staff in residential group homes for adolescents involved with DCF. This position is ideal for those who would like to supplement their income with a second job or for a college student. This is an on-call and as-needed position. As a Support Worker the schedule is based on your availability. Morning, evening, overnight, and partial shifts are available; however, you must do at least one shift per week.

Hourly Wage: $20 per hour.

Due to the part-time nature of the position, it does not include health benefits, but it does includes educational reimbursement for Human Service-related courses.

You will:

  • Have a positive impact on the lives of the adolescents you are working with
  • Transport clients and participate in various community-based activities: YMCA, theater, sports events, etc.
  • Receive paid training

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a positive role model for adolescents regarding age-appropriate behavior and social skills
  • Assists the youth to perform daily life skills activities including household chores such as laundry, cooking and doing homework
  • Provide consistent supervision of the youth and use redirection and behavior management intervention, when appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Have a High School diploma with at least one year of experience in working with children or adolescents, OR an Associate's degree in a human services-related field
  • Must be 21 years of age or older; have a valid state driver's license; and, have a legally registered and insured car for work use
  • Have the ability to work at night, on weekends and holidays, as needed
  • May attend agency training
