Primary Objective of Position

Ensure purchased parts conform to Winnebago requirements per drawings and other defining documentation. Communicate non-conformances to the supplier, issue and review corrective actions, and verify supplier corrections. Disposition of non-conforming supplier parts per supplier instruction. Develop supplier relationships to reduce defect rates and cost of supplied materials.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform part inspections, identify, contain and document rejected parts, and communicate to all necessary departments. Process returns to supplier parts for return authorization and paperwork.
  • Notify suppliers of non-conformances and issue corrective actions (DMN/SCAR). Work with suppliers to determine root causes and implement timely and effective quality solutions. Review supplier documentation, and perform evaluations, and effectiveness checks to verify that the suppliers have implemented corrective actions.
  • As required, perform on-site supplier assessments, supplier training, and audits to evaluate supplier quality systems.
  • Compile and maintain supplier metrics, scorecards, and report data to key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Investigate non-conformances with purchased parts, communicate issues with all pertinent parties, develop solutions and drive conformance with the suppliers.
  • Follow standard work instructions and complete documentation and records for traceability.
  • Drive a “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain forklift license certification.
  • Work in a safe manner and follow all company safety policies.
  • Provide training, guidance, and leadership within the Supplier Quality Department.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 3-7 years of experience in quality, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Proficient in understanding and reading engineering prints
  • Continuous Improvement methodology training/experience
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and to apply sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions and required the team to implement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple cross-functional groups at multiple levels of the company


Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical school or college credits, advanced certifications
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing and/or process experience with assembly processes
  • Six Sigma Training
  • PPAP Experience
  • Ability to interpret measurement results
