Responsibilities:
The Supv, Pharmacy Tech-Specialty Svcs assists the specialty pharmacy manager in the medication use process, ensuring the delivery of competent and efficient pharmaceutical care / drug delivery at appropriate service levels through daily allocation and coordination of resources to assure that patient needs are effectively met. This includes, but is not limited to, providing medications for specialty pharmacy patients, interacting with regulatory agencies, payors, and providers to ensure that specialty medications are safely dispensed and financial goals are met, working with the manager to develop policies and procedures for new processes, equipment or scheduling and analyzing the quality and quantity of departmental output. The Supv, Pharmacy Tech-Specialty Svcs also supervises efficient workflow of pharmacy operations and pharmacy technicians, develops training materials and administers training competencies and staff education.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Three years experience in either community or specialty pharmacy
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (National)
- Pharmacy Technician (State) (KY)
Desired:
- One year prior authorization experience.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor Degree
