Summary:

Supervises the daily activities of Inspection, Heat Set, Finishing and shipping departments. Assigns personnel, establishes goals, determines workflow and schedules daily departmental activities. Implements Safety Policies operational policies, quality policies, procedures, and administers discipline/attendance policies. Leads and directs the work of the hourly workforce.


Responsibilities:

  • Makes sure that all work is done safely and according to quality standards (Voith), customer requests and other legal requirements;
  • Assign hourly employees to their daily tasks/activities to support manufacturing operations schedules.
  • Monitor goals and workflow for the hourly workforce.
  • Initiates continuous improvement activities and actions to improve departmental processes and workflow.
  • Coaches performance and development, provides training, and resolves problems for hourly employees
  • Completes all communication and information sharing within the hourly workforce necessary to meet goals.
  • Establish, maintain, and continually improve relationships with hourly employees and union officers.
  • Conduct timely performance appraisals of hourly personnel.
  • Administer company policies and procedures including support of the quality system. This includes disciplinary investigations, actions, and follow-up and administration of the attendance policies.
  • Responsible for purchasing of and maintaining departmental consumables and supplies.
  • Responsible for timekeeping, direct/rated hours, indirect time and resolving all labor transactions that do not process, reconciling zero balance and timely key closure.
  • Schedule predictive and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Write operational procedures
  • Some travel maybe required for training.
  • Monitor production during the month and report numbers.
  • Maintain inventory
  • JDE Data entry.


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field or related area
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Must have some skills in Excel, Word & Power Point
  • JDE exposure (good to have)
