Summer Day Camp Program Facilitator

Summer Day Camp with option to continue during school year.

Position Overview.

You have energy, drive and a heart for the challenges that face girls ages 7-15 each day. You’re a creative planner who is incredibly patient, extremely good-humored but tough when you need to be. You are curious, flexible and social-media savvy with tech skills that you can put to work in the programs you design. You love opening young minds to new experiences. You’re ready to be a mentor, a change agent, and a fierce advocate for the girl in our program who needs you. And you like working a schedule that leaves you free in the evenings and on the weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • This position reports directly to the Girls Inc. Program Director and is responsible for:
  • Creating an engaging and interesting environment for girls while ensuring their safety, promoting positive participation and building retention.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to girls, guiding them toward success.
  • Being a positive role model and building relationships with girls that foster positive communication and partnership.
  • Working together with the Program Director to adapt program materials to meet specific challenges or needs.
  • Representing Girls Inc. positively and professionally in the community.
  • All other program duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • Prefer a candidate with prior your group or classroom management experience.
  • Have a valid driver’s license, current insurance and a clean driving record
  • Excellent tech skills and social media literacy to support the work of this position.
  • Possesses a high level of organizational skill while being able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates high levels of initiative, creativity and multi-tasking ability.
  • Able to communicate confidently and respectfully and can manage discipline problems or conflict among members evenly and effectively.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • camp or youth education: 1 year (Required)
