Reporting directly into the US Finance Manager, who is also based remotely in the US, the Sugar & Sweeteners Analyst is part of a Commodity Insights Team. Ideally, you will come from an established Price Reporting Agency (PRA) or a sugar and/or sweeteners company and be experienced in working with price assessment methodologies, commodity specifications and IOSCO-compliant price reporting processes. You will need to be highly numerate with excellent analytical and communication skills and enjoy interaction with traders, producers and manufacturers in the agricultural and soft commodity value chain. The Commodity Pricing Analyst will be working closely with other members of the global Commodity Insight Team.

Main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

• Growing the coverage into the sugar and sweeteners markets.
• Increase the number of price assessments and reports published in the sugar and sweeteners sector.
• Build and grow the number of industry contacts in the sugar and sweeteners sector that submit pricing data, using all means of communication including face-to-face meetings and networking.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals, supply chain and key participants for the sugar and sweeteners commodity markets.
• Collect transnational pricing data, bids, offers, tenders and any other information that will be relevant to assess the benchmark prices line with robust methodology, price specifications and IOSCO-compliant principles.
• Follow procedures to continue to build and maintain proprietary data.
• Write regular pricing rationales, reports and analytical pieces.
• Handle questions from contacts and the market about the dynamics of particular pricing, seeking guidance from your manager when inquiries are sensitive, to make our processes and judgment transparent to the market.

In return for a competitive remuneration package, the successful candidate will possess the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or in a similar numeric field would be beneficial
• Experience of working in commodities, preferably in the sugar and/or sweeteners industry.
• A strong understanding of what impacts physical commodity prices, with experience in fundamentals analysis and report-writing, as well as a knowledge of incoterms, trade flows and value chains.
• Highly numerate with a keen eye for detail; very comfortable using MS Excel as well as performing various types of data analysis.
• Experience of working independently, with a self-starter attitude that is well-served in growing and maintaining a network of industry contacts for market knowledge and price collection.
