The Town of Scarborough is seeking a full-time Storeroom Manager within the Public Works Department. This position is an essential part of the department’s overall success. The Storeroom Manager will oversee the tangible and administrative management, coordination, and maintenance of an extensive automotive parts and municipal materials inventory. Duties will include: researching, sourcing, ordering, pricing, billing, organizing, distributing, and maintaining a large automotive/municipal inventory. This position will additionally maintain accurate records, process warranty issues, suggest and implement program changes as necessary, and will assist in the general operations of the Public Works department.

Position requirements: Able to maintain a large inventory successfully, determining ideal quantities to maximize usage and minimize stagnant and unused inventory. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, highly organized, flexible, reliable, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must maintain a knowledge of functions and procedures for all divisions of Public Works, inclusive of supplies, materials, equipment, tools, and parts. Cultivate and maintain an awareness, understanding, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Strong computer skills a must. Knowledge of the Cityworks program is beneficial.

Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent. Desirable experience includes experience with administrative duties and automotive/equipment repair, experience working in an automotive/equipment storeroom, State of Maine CDL is beneficial but not required.
