Project Overview:

Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States and the next large-scale lithium mine. The project has all permits required to commence construction, which is expected to start in 2023. Engineering design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway, with early works being coordinated.

This project falls under the Lithium Americas umbrella of Lithium Nevada Corporation (LNC). Project site is located ~3 hours northeast of Reno at the southern end of the McDermitt Caldera in Humboldt County, NV, and ~25 miles from the Nevada-Oregon border (or ~1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, NV).

The Project will be developed as an open-pit mining operation using conventional, continuous mining equipment. Given the soft, clay nature of the deposit, minimal blasting and crushing is anticipated. The ore will then be processed in a leaching circuit using sulfuric acid to liberate the lithium from the claystone. Following the leaching process, the lithium bearing solution will be purified using crystallizers and reagents to produce battery-quality Li2CO3.

The Thacker Pass site has a flat and expansive terrain which allows for a very compact footprint and for future potential expansions.

Bechtel will have responsibility for the full EPC/EPCM scope.

Position Summary:

The Structural Engineer is required to contribute input to technical meetings along with contributing on reviewing the basic design, providing guidance; checking and ensuring the detailed engineering design of the structural components in various areas of the NEOM Mountain region, which consists of recreational assets comprising of site wide infrastructure, ski slopes, hiking and nature trails; real estate comprising of hotels, ultra luxury mansions, villages, lifestyle and resorts; and major structures consisting of vault, lake tunnel and bow, are correct and aligned with requirements set by client.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate between disciplines and departments and provide review comments on technical engineering designs.
• Review and comment on design and drawing packages.
• Utilize software to review and check designs; and perform calculations to check designs.

Job Knowledge:

• Knowledge of Civil design, building materials, and construction methods for development of various work area designs.
• Understands technical issues and cost related to selection of design features and unique Structural design requirements.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards pertinent to the discipline.
• knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, the design of engineered structures and design calculations.
• Knowledge of current computer applications for engineering and design including appropriate knowledge of CAD (both 2-D and 3-D) e.g S3D and Tekla AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel for managing design reviews
• Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
• Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular engineering discipline.

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

• Civil Engineering Degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Structural design management.
• Exposed and has basic experience in the analysis and design of structures - steel and/or concrete.
