Our four independent pharmacies, Acton Pharmacy, West Concord Pharmacy, Theatre Pharmacy in Lexington and Keyes Drug in Newton, are owned by brothers and pharmacists Saad and Raied Dinno, and offer prescriptions, compounded medications and other specialty items such as medical supplies, homeopathic remedies, and a full line of vitamins and vaccines.

Our pharmacists – some of whom have worked at the pharmacy for decades – are passionate about providing individualized care, including one-on-one counseling for prescriptions and health issues, and care coordination to ensure that prescriptions are authorized and expedited.

We listen to and care about our patients’ concerns and tailor all of our compounded medications to the needs of each individual. We also work very closely with physicians and other health care providers to determine the best possible therapy for our patients.

We are currently looking for a Full-Time Pharmacist to work at Keyes Drug Pharmacy in Newton, MA. This position will require some nights until 8:00 PM and the ability to work weekends.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols. Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.

2. Participate in educational and professional programs and/or review professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge and competency in current and developing techniques, professional standards, and the services offered by the Branch.

3. Performs pharmaceutical patient assessment (initial and reassessment).

4. Develop plans to manage the patient's pharmaceutical care and executes the care plan.

5. Pharmaceutical services related to the preparation and dispensing of drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies to patients at home under the supervision of the pharmacist

6. Maintain rapport with ordering physicians. Inform the physicians and pertinent others of the changes in the patient's condition/status. Promote rational drug therapy to physicians.

7. Develop technical knowledge of the products/services provided by the Branch and be able to provide information of same to others upon request.

8. Perform pharmaceutical assessments and reassessments, creating and executing plans to manage the pharmaceutical care of home care patients according to Company policy

9. Assist in resolving patient equipment problems under emergency conditions.

10. Assemble, troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.

11. Monitor pharmaceutical supply levels and place appropriate orders as approved by the Owner.

12. Supervise other Pharmacy Staff.

13. Assist with implementation of quality improvement program to meet company and accreditation standards, as well as MTM services.

14. Vaccinate customers upon their request.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from a School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Board on Pharmaceutical Education
  • 5 Years Experience in Clinical pharmacy or Home Health industry preferred or equivalent.
  • Certified to Vaccinate
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Perform basic math functions

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
4-6 Years of Experience in a Retail Pharmacy Setting is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of MTM Preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Current State Pharmacist license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sitting, standing, walking; at desk, in office throughout facility and pharmacy. Operation of office machinery and Pharmacy equipment. Occasionally lift/move items up to 40 pounds.Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55.00 per hour
