We are looking for a temporary to a permanent role for a Staff Accountant to support all businesses within our creative agency. The ideal candidate has a keen interest in photography, enjoys partnering across teams in a vibrant creative environment. We currently operate in a hybrid work model with several days onsite in our Tribeca studios and the balance of the week remote.

The Staff Accountant will play a critical role within the finance team, reporting to the Controller and Senior Accounting Manager, with direct exposure to the CFO and senior management. This position will offer experience in revenue recognition, analysis, billing, corporate accounting, and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and maintain contractual data within SAAS front-end/reporting software.
• Receive, format, and upload monthly transactional customer activity via .csv import.
• Prepare and send invoices to clients through the use of software on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
• Assist the Manager of Accounts Receivable in routine follow-up procedures.
• Process customer payments via credit card, and make related recordings within Netsuite.
• Reconcile monthly revenue between sub-ledger and NetSuite for activity billed & necessary adjustments.
• Performs analysis on timing and volume of services rendered to determine unbilled and deferred revenues.
• Analyze inter-company transactions and create related journal entries.
• Receive, analyze, and book monthly corporate AMEX charges via Journal Entry.
• Assist in performing regular, weekly, monthly, and quarterly ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
• Review actual departmental expenses versus budget.
• Perform monthly close procedures including recording of all cash and accounting transactions.
• Assist in the interpretation and analysis of client account performance through the lens of pricing, job costs, utilization, and gross margins.
• Support operational projects by performing a variety of analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Keen attention to detail, self-organization, strong communication, highly analytical, and solid business judgment
• 3-5 years of Accounting or Finance related experience preferred
• Strong Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Netsuite ERP preferred

Benefits

The base salary for this position is $60,000.00 -75,000.00 or $30 - $35 per hour. These numbers represent the low and high end of our salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
