Location – Portsmouth, RI
The Hinckley Company manufactures the world-renowned Hinckley, Hunt, and Morris Yachts. We also operate 8 service yards along the East Coast for all brands of power and sailing yachts. We are hiring a Staff Accountant located in our corporate headquarters located in Portsmouth, RI.
The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, excel in a fast-paced environment, be focused on business process improvements and operate in a professional and positive manner with vendors and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, monthly GL/sub-ledger balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare monthly analytics.
- Analyze financial data including variance analysis to budget and forecast, making recommendations based on analysis.
- Assist with the processing of Sales tax returns on a monthly basis.
- Support the Fixed Asset accounting requirements including additions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation.
- Work with Controllers on miscellaneous financials projects
- Assist with year-end audit.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
· · BS degree in Accounting, finance, business administration or related field
· · CPA not mandatory, but a plus
· · 1-3 years Accounting experience
· · Knowledge of GAAP
· · Excellent Excel skills
· · High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· · Experience in fixed assets is required
· · Superior analytical and problem-solving techniques
