St. Louis Catholic School is looking for a dedicated staff member to join our instructional team. He/she will perform a variety of paraprofessional curricular, instructional, clerical, and support tasks to teachers in an elementary learning environment; he/she will assist with the daily management primarily of student(s) in the classroom, cafeteria, and playground. This is a perfect opportunity for any recent graduate interested in career in education, or experienced professional looking to enter into education.
- Monitors groups of students engaged in drawing, writing, independent study, or similar work while the teacher is working with small groups.
- May assist with instructing the student under the supervision of the teacher, including monitoring students on independent work.
- Provides supervision while the student is in all areas of the school to maintain personal safety.
- Will complete training for crisis management, behavioral support and other school-sanctioned training.
- Job requires a certain level of physical activity including but not limited to: running, completing an activity on the ground, getting on and off the floor frequently, assisting a student at recess and/or P.E.
- Must be able to maintain a discreet confidentiality when working with other staff and parents regarding a students private medical and/or academic needs.
- Helps the student maintain a structured daily routine as well as adapt when the schedule may or may not change.
