Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for directing all warehouse operations at our Tempe, AZ location. This includes all receiving and shipping activity, proper storage, and accounting of product (dry, chilled, and frozen). This position is responsible for ensuring the Production facility is properly supplied as scheduled, customer orders are loaded accurately and on-time. Proper accounting and storage of all incoming and outgoing products, as well as facilities safety, falls under the responsibility of this position.

Job Duties

  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
  • Executes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and maintaining inventory accuracy
  • Ensures products and supply stocks are distributed and received in an efficient manner in an effort to eliminate shortages, down time, delay in start-ups times and product changeovers
  • Partners with plant managers, planning and customer service department managers to ensure coordination of warehouse activities
  • Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials
  • Leads projects and assesses fulfillment results to improve warehouse practices
  • Manages all warehouse departmental expenses related to maintaining a safe and productive work environment
  • Responsible for all DOT requirements as set by FMCSA for drivers, trailers, and maintenance at the facility.
  • Meets warehouse operations by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, and scheduling expenditures.
  • Maintain, train and manage warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals. This includes recruitment, selection, and orientation of staff.
  • Improves staff performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  • Identifies the causes of product losses and takes correction action
  • Identify process bottlenecks and coordinate the implementation of solutions in a timely manner
  • Establishes and updates SOPs as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Promotes team environment and works collaboratively to achieve team goals
  • Leads by example to actively promote ethical business behavior and organizational values and adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications include

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University, majoring in Supply Chain (or similar), Business Management or Industrial Engineering

Experience:

  • Three plus years of management in a warehouse environment with increasing management responsibilities across multiple platforms (dry, chilled, and frozen)
  • APICS, OSHA or related certification(s) a plus.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus

  • Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software, Manufacturing software, Warehouse Management software and possess general email writing and online research skills.
