Position Summary:


The Supply Chain Assistant is responsible for the planning and execution of all tactical level processes required to secure and manage raw materials, packaging materials, and semi-finished materials, based on a forward looking production plan. This includes scheduling and managing delivery, storage, staging, and movement of materials. Responsible to create and maintain valid plans for the acquisition of parts and material.


Responsibilities:


  • Determines raw material needs and packaging supplies for Kuraray production at multiple production facilities.
  • Maintains inventory at acceptable levels and audits to ensure SAP and physical inventories match.
  • Ensures quality specifications are met for incoming material and follows-up with suppliers if material is not within specifications.
  • As Manufacturing SAP Super Key User, responsible for accuracy of SAP system
  • Enters data from sources such as purchase orders, invoices, and requisitions into various computer systems to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, or other records.
  • Participates in and provides data for evaluation of supplier service performance and works with sourcing and suppliers to improve performance.
  • Proactively resolves problems with raw material inventory, production, or accounting by working with supply chain, operators, supervision, engineers and warehouse personnel on a daily basis.
  • Leads the continuous improvement of the material planning process.


Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of supply chain and/or manufacturing experience or High School Diploma with specific supply chain certifications
  • Experience working with SAP (minimum 6 months experience)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases), SharePoint and Internet Explorer
  • Broad range of computer skills and attitude to learn new systems
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
