Sr. Network Engineer

Houston, TX (onsite)

Job Description :

The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for monitoring the data communications network through the use of console-based event management tools to ensure that the network is available to all system users.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Management or a related field

Must have strong written and verbal skills (English language)

10+ years of related network operations experience, cybersecurity engineering experience a plus

Strong background in Cisco, Silverpeak, routing/switching and firewall configuration

Experienced in leading complex network projects

Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure

Strong understanding of MPLS, BGP, TCP/IP, and IPv4/6

Strong understanding of Wireless technologies

Strong troubleshooting skills and proven track record of getting your hands dirty to cut through ambiguity and fix network problems.

Industry certifications relevant to the role such as: CCNP, CCIE, SPSP, CISSP

Experience with firewalls (Cisco (Sourcefire/Firepower/FTD)

Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL)

Experience with security processes and documentation

Experience with logging technologies (Rapid7)

Experience with infrastructure monitoring technologies (Solarwinds)

Good scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell)

Experience with Cloud environments (Azure, AWS)

Experience with Network Access Control solutions (Cisco ISE)
