We are looking for a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to set up, maintain and repair printing, sealing and extrusion equipment, within our facility. The successful candidate will monitor system performance, analyze and report on results.This is an active leadership role, that also requires the ability to perform various hands-on maintenance activities, as needed. To succeed in this position, you should also be able to comprehend and follow complex technical manuals and blueprints. If you have proven leadership skills, good problem-solving skills, an eye for detail and good manual dexterity, we’d like to hear from you. The successful candidate will provide direction and leadership of hourly team members within the Maintenance Department, while living in one of top ten places to live in the US in 2019 according to US News and World Report.

Responsibilities:

  • The primary job function is to effectively lead the efforts to maintain the plant equipment. This will include but is not limited to PMs, utility work, major equipment rebuilds, project work, general inspections, and equipment troubleshooting and repairs as needed.

  • Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Manager, manufacturing leadership personnel and with the other maintenance mechanical and electrical leaders.

  • Directs mechanics/technicians who repair and maintain equipment; includes PM Maintenance.

  • Responsible for coordinating and supervising maintenance tasks performed on facilities and equipment.

  • Maintains production equipment in a manner that meets safety and efficiency standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime.

  • Works closely with production personnel to ensure that root cause and corrective actions are captured and maintained.

  • Administers training for maintenance personnel to ensure proper operations, preventive maintenance, and repair programs and procedures are in place. Arrange training and support to all maintenance personnel to improve job and safety performance.

  • Maintains inventory of spare parts. Document parts that need to be on classified as critical spares and remove obsolete parts in a controlled manner. Makes determination to rebuild or replace parts

  • Works closely with the Maintenance Planner to ensure pre-planning and follow up for PMs to determine best practices

  • Works to identify and eliminate root causes of problems and down time

  • Ensure that all parts are properly checked out and return unused parts to the storeroom

  • Document parts that need to be on classified as critical spares and remove obsolete parts in a controlled manner.

  • Works with Maintenance Manager to manage maintenance labor, maintenance parts, and facilities budgets are within specified levels.

  • Lead and/or participate in cost improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to make decisions under time constraints and tight deadlines

  • Able to lead and interact with other associates in a team oriented environment

  • Proven leadership ability

Qualifications:

  • MUST be able to pass the Ramsay Mechanical Aptitude Test.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (AA/AS preferred), Must have Journeyman Certification and a minimum of 5 years of experience in field in Millwright, Welding or Pipefitting. Documented leadership experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Strong communications skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to provide technical and management practice recommendations through formal and informal communication.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to analyze various manufacturing, maintenance, mechanical and electrical related issues
  • Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft applications, Outlook, and SAP.
