Responsibilities:
We work with numerous schools in 4 boroughs who are needing Speech Language Pathologists to work with students requiring the services. The period of performance of this contract shall consist of a minimum of five (5) hours daily minimum.

• Assist in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students.
• Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students.
• Ensure that all activities conform to district and cooperative guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the school district, community, and agency.
• Diagnosing, treating, and preventing speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Creating treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
• Performing screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educating patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
• Keeping detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.
• Reporting progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professional

Required Skills:

• Must have obtained a graduate degree in speech-language pathology from a New York State registered licensure qualifying program
• Must live in New York or within a reasonable commuting distance.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must be an organized thinker.
• Must be able to work independently as well as with the teacher and parent.
• Able to identify, prioritize and mitigate risks and issues.
• Maintains good communication with the Parent, School teacher and with Knowledge Road.

Qualifications:

• You must have obtained a graduate degree in speech-language pathology from a New York State registered licensure qualifying program, a program accredited by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), or the equivalent. To be considered equivalent, your educational program must culminate in a graduate degree from a college or university acceptable to the Department. It must include a practicum and 75 semester hours of courses as specified below. At least 36 of the 75 semester hours must be at the graduate level.

Knowledge Road - is an SETSS Services agency which supplies Special Education Teaching in all school areas in New York. Our primary focus is the New York City Department of Education. We have multiple awards/ contracts with the following schools in specific boroughs: Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan and Queens.
