Job Title: Procurement Specialist – Material Pricing Analyst

Job Description: Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of raw materials, goods and services. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Approves and qualifies vendors, obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards. Follows up on all awards through completion of order. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes. Follows applicable anti-corruption ethics, laws, and regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate material pricing on proposal efforts.
  • Own the request for quote process, which includes maintaining compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Responsible for meeting cost savings and avoidance targets so negotiations skills are a must.
  • Conduct data analytics for pricing and labor hour rates and analyze large data sets to price Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Execute lifecycle of the procurement process from requisition through purchase order close out
  • Ensure delivery dates are current and obtainable in the system and meets program requirements
  • Closely communicates with suppliers to maintain industry best On-Time delivery standards.
  • Interface with several internal groups including Program Management, Program Finance, Engineering and Material Managers/Planning to ensure meeting of program requirements
  • Resolve invoice issues ensuring on time payments to supplier

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

  • Previous experience using MRP systems
