We are currently seeking Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher for our Bridgeport Elementary School and High School at our Culver City campus! We have an opportunity for a Elementary (grades 1st - 5th), Middle School (grades 7-8) and High School (grades 9th - 12th). Teacher that will be responsible for teaching all subject areas. Our Bridgeport School educates students with mild cognitive delays and challenges with social communication and/or language development. The school serves students ages 5 to 21, many with autism spectrum disorder. This integrated educational and therapeutic program is designed to promote academic, communicative, behavioral, social, motor, adaptive and independent living skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Mild/Moderate Special Education credential required; OR must be Intern or Provisional Internship Permit or Short-Term Staff Permit eligible (CBEST certification is required to qualify for these permits)
  • Experience teaching students with autism, developmental disabilities and/or learning differences.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Plan, coordinate and implement individual student programs.
  • Select appropriate curriculum content for each student.
  • Determine appropriate, measurable goals and objectives for each student.
  • Write individual education plans (IEPs) and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Employ a trans-disciplinary approach to education, conferring with team members as appropriate for particular issues.
  • Prepare or secure necessary instructional materials.
  • Modify activities and adapt materials to promote student success.
  • Design and use instructional grouping patterns that are varied and flexible, including individual, small group, and whole class instruction.
  • Employ clear, predictable daily and weekly schedules, which accommodate students' needs.
  • Prepare a weekly plan book to detail lesson plans, grouping, activities, staff assignments, and other relevant information.
  • Employ appropriate, individualized teaching and reinforcement techniques to maximize student achievement.

Salary:

$48,916.00 - $54,000.00 for PIP/STP/Intern

$56,107.00 - $91,500.00 for Credentialed
