Duties include coordinating and managing the activities of residential, recycling, brush / bulky waste and special waste collection and disposal – hiring and supervising assigned staff; establishing collection schedules, methods, and procedures; overseeing and enforcing a stringent safety program; responding to and investigating vehicle accidents and work-related injuries; participating in the preparation, implementation and administration of the departmental budget; preparing various reports; and answering questions and providing information to the public. A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a closely related field and five years relevant experience, as well as two years supervisory experience, required. Must have, or be able to obtain within a specified timeframe, TCEQ Municipal Solid Waste A licensure and Waste Screening certification, and a Class A or B Texas CDL. Normal hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though schedule may include periodic response to after-hours trouble calls. A résumé must be submitted with application.

THOSE WHOSE DATE OF HIRE (START DATE) IS FEBRUARY 19 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2023, ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A HIRING INCENTIVE!

• 
  Individuals hired into this position will receive $1000 after their first 30 days of employment provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
• Employees that successfully complete their 6-month orientation period will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000 provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
• Employees that successfully complete one year of employment without
  documented attendance or disciplinary issues will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000.
• The maximum amount of hiring incentive that an individual employee may receive is $3,000.
