Test Development Engineer
Job Description & Skill Requirement:
Responsibilities:
- Designing, leading, and supporting hands-on development of test methods and protocols for catheter components, assemblies, and accessories.
- Commercial test equipment selection, custom mechanical and hardware/fixture development, test equipment development and integration of test systems into use in R&D engineering and production environments
- Executing testing on components, assemblies, and accessories individually and with the support of technicians.
- Working with suppliers and partners to define test requirements and protocols, perform catheter testing and characterization, and analyze and report results.
- Formal documentation development and release. Hands-on transfer of equipment, work instructions and training to manufacturing
- Strong test development skills, with demonstrated ability to quickly prototype test hardware and tools
- Ability to work with existing test systems in a version-controlled test development environment
- Understanding of engineering principles and ability to specify, implement, and validate test methods
- Experience in control/test automation design and implementation
- Entrepreneurial, proactive problem solving
- BS/BA in ME, CE, BME or advanced degree
- 5+ years relevant experience in medical device testing
- Experience with Minitab required
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel 10-15%
Preferred Knowledge/Skills to have for the success of this role
- Design control and traceability experience
- Knowledge of risk management processes for medical devices
- Microsoft Team Foundation Server experience
Qualification:
- BS degree in Engineering or other engineering discipline; MS preferred
