****IMMEDIATE OPENINGS**** INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILL EDUCATORS and JUDICIALLY INVOLVED SUPPORT SERVICES for full-time and part-time social work positions within the San Jose Area.

PASSPORT TO LEARNING, INC. is currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, conscientious, self-motivated social workers to work one to one with clients who have intellectual disabilities. Instructors hired for this position will work in the Independent Living Skills (ILS) program. Clients who participate in training programs are adults. The social work is conducted in the clients' home environments and the community to establish positive routines, develop functional skills, and for the enhancement of the clients' daily living skills. The educator/instructor will provide support and guidance to clients in a mentor-style relationship for the achievement of individualized service plan goals.

Candidates for this position must be able to drive to meet with the clients at their home residence and locations in the community to provide community-based instructions in specific areas of Santa Clara, San Jose & Santa Cruz counties. Remote instructions are provided on specific case assignments due to COVID-19. Only candidates residing in or within 15 miles of the specified services areas are considered for this position. Candidates must be able to report to our San Jose office twice per month to submit progress documentation, attend staff meetings, training, supervisions, and client QA meetings. On-the-job training is provided.

PASSPORT TO LEARNING, INC. (PTL) is dedicated to serving a community of individuals with intellectual disabilities who need assistance in adapting to meet age-specific developmental milestones. PTL's Independent Living Skills (ILS) program is an age-appropriate functional skill training for individuals with Autism, MMR, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual disabilities. The focus of the practice is to increase a person's daily living skills at home and in the community, to pursue academic goals, or to explore employment options.

* Compensation: Starting Salary: $19.91 - $24.91 per hour based on education and experience (+ mileage reimbursement) and travel time at the minimum wage rate.
* Flexible Schedules; Weekend and Evening Hours available
* Part-time and Full-time positions available.
* Medical, Vision & Dental benefits available to full-time positions (30 hr. per week)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: An associates and/or bachelor's degree is preferred in one of the following disciplines: criminal justice, humanities, psychology, sociology, education, or a teaching certificate. Candidates must have effective written and verbal communication skills and professional appearance. We are seeking candidates who enjoy helping and teaching others in the field of social work. Knowledge of intellectual disabilities; understanding of community resources for individuals with disabilities; creativity is required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Reliable transportation is a must. Must be fully Covid 19 vaccinated or willing. Experience in report writing to state agencies is a plus. Valid California Driver's License, Automotive Insurance, and CPR/ 1st Aid are required. An extensive background clearance preformed after the contigent offer of employment, including a 3 - year Motor Vehicle Report.'
