Experienced Site Civil Engineering CAD Technician - Full Time

DuBois Consultants Inc. (https://www.dubconinc.com/) is a small business headquartered in Kansas City, MO.

DuBois is a leading full-service Civil and Structural Engineering firm that focuses on Water Infrastructure, Transmission and Distribution, Sub-Station Design, and Renewable Energy for the purpose of improving the communities in which we serve.

We are looking to hire an energetic Site Civil CAD technician to generate surface and solid CAD models for our clients. Responsibilities include the layout of construction drawings based on preliminary design plans/models, the adaptation of standard details to projects, detailing of unique conditions, and coordination with other disciplines such as architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, etc. Work will be done under the supervision of an engineer. You may be required to work as part of a team or individually on a project.

A Day in the Life of a Site Civil Engineering CAD Technician:

Using the computer-generated models and plans, you must work with other team members and departments to assist in setting timelines, and budgets, and in making decisions regarding materials that will be used to complete the project.

In order to be an effective technician, you must have general knowledge of engineering standards, mathematics, and the materials used to make client plans a reality.

AutoCAD Designer Skill Requirements:

· Firm grasp of mathematics, a general concept of engineering, and industry information.

· Basic understanding of building design and structural processes.

· Familiarity with construction drawings and technical documents.

· Good communication, leadership, and client management skills.

· Great time management skills.

· Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.

· Ability to work as part of a team and individually on projects.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various groups of people.

Experience and Skills:

· Associate degree or CAD Certification, required

· Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D; experience with Revit Structural a plus

· AutoCAD, 3 – 5 years

· Experience in preparation and checking of civil site development design deliverables (concepts, drawings, calculations, and quantities) for site layout, site drainage, rough grading, finish grading, stormwater, and sanitary systems, fencing, underground utility services, and soil retention.

· Knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems, and engineering and design calculations.

· Microsoft Office experience including strong Excel skills

· Strong writing and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work within a team to complete small-medium projects

· Ability to organize and prioritize duties

· Detail oriented

· Demonstrates strong analytical, and problem-solving skills

· Self-motivated

Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
