About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Short-Term Municipal Trader and Remarketer to join our Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) business on the Municipal Products Group team. The Municipal Products Group (MPG) provides investment banking, municipal derivatives, investor solutions, institutional sales, secondary trading and underwriting services to issuer and investor clients.

In this role, you will:
  • Help both issuer and investor clients achieve their financial objectives and deliver business results for Wells Fargo
  • Profitably manage the risk and remarketing/trading of Variable Rate Demand Notes (VRDNs), commercial paper, Floating Rate Notes (FRNs), Tender Option Bonds (TOBs) and a variety of securities structured for the money market space
  • Effectively communicate for the management of the daily issuer and investor interaction
  • Provide frequent internal and external market commentary specific to the short taxable and tax-exempt markets
  • Manage operational risk pertaining to the issuance of taxable and tax-exempt commercial paper
  • Bring strong knowledge of municipal the municipal markets, especially municipal money market dynamics
  • Have broad knowledge of credit dynamics/structures and relative value for short-term taxable and tax-exempt securities
  • Make sound risk adjusted decisions and trading within the business's risk mandate
  • Develop and maintain relationships with buy-side counterparts
  • Partner with investment banking, trading, sales, underwriting, investors and other business partners to help grow the Municipal Products Group
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 4+ years of Securities Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of municipal experience with a background that includes trading or other relevant capital markets experience
  • Exceptional municipal knowledge with a history of managing municipal risk
  • Knowledge of the municipal credit and taxable markets
  • Established relationships across the municipal money market, including buy-side clients
  • Proficiency with NAPA and Bloomberg
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of all municipal products
  • Organized, affable, and able to work in a collegial, team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with exceptional communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Job Expectations:
  • Up to 25% travel
  • Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 69 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
