We are looking for our next team member and looking to help you learn, with an apprenticeship. We have mapped out a plan for a mixture of work and learning time, for a year. While you are paid along the way, you also have the opportunity for a full-time role and increase at the end of your training. We include access to online training under CompTIA’s A+ and Network+ certification.

While this position does not have many pre-requisites, it does require someone who wants to succeed.

What we need

We are looking for an apprentice based out of our Fort Worth office to learn computer basics and our Service Desk role. We need someone

  • With a strong sense of ownership, structure and attention to detail
  • Desire to listen and also learn on their own (must be curious, like George)
  • Comfortable interacting with others
  • While no prior computer experience is required, prior expertise is beneficial

What you’ll do

As a Service Desk apprentice, you will experience many of the entry level tasks related to working on a service team.

  • Engage Service Desk leadership about being a customer service expert, that helps with technology
  • Builds oral and written communications skills in support of the troubleshooting process
  • Learns trouble ticketing systems, documentation and related processes
  • Learns technology lingo and enhances their technical knowledge
  • Works with other teams, assisting with hands on or support activities
  • Works with common IT support tools such as network monitoring, remote control, system documentation, MS Teams, MS Outlook,
  • Works with common network tools such as anti-malware, email filtering, VPN, backup and Office 365
  • Plan to assist with basic tasks such as password resets, basic user provisioning, PC level troubleshooting, assist with PC setups
  • Must complete basic security awareness training within first 60 days of employment

Requirements

  • Must be a resident of Tarrant County
  • Must have completed high school and at least 17 years old
  • Must be able to work a 40 hour week (weekends maybe 1-2 times a quarter)
  • Should have some basic familiarity with computer and/or network terminology and skills
  • Must be able to pass FBI Criminal background and pre-employment drug test (for our local government clients)
  • We track all work efforts using our ticket ticketing system so administrative skills are a must.
  • There may be learning opportunities at client sites in DFW, so must have dependable transportation
  • And must be human, or, willing to convert to human within 6 months, ha ha.
