Sensory Scientist, your future position?

Givaudan’s North American Consumer Sensory Insights team collaborates with customers to understand needs, provide evidence-based ingredient insights, and share our expertise. All supported by our extensive consumer and sensory research programs and market knowledge across food and beverage categories.

As Sensory Scientist , you will work collaboratively with a team of researchers to provide sensory insights for North American food and beverage companies. This position offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in sensory and consumer methods, using both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Your main responsibilities will be:
Help the Sensory Insights team provide actionable research for technical, marketing, and sales teams.
Serve as a business partner, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design sensory testing approaches (including discrimination, descriptive, and affective testing) based upon objectives and needs to deliver appropriate results and insights.
Drive innovative methodologies (including digital transformation), lead project execution, and work with other members of the Consumer Sensory Insights team on industry leading research, including collaboration with global Consumer Sensory Insights colleagues.

Your professional profile includes:
Advanced degree in Food Science (or related) with emphasis on Sensory Science, Bachelor’s degree with previous sensory experience will be considered.
Proficiency in applying Sensory methodologies including descriptive, discriminative, quantitative testing and design of experiments to answer objectives.
Sound statistical analysis skills with proven data interpretation knowledge.
Relevant Sensory software experience (e.g., Compusense, XLSTAT).
Project management experience including the ability to design and execute complex research studies with minimal instruction and provide actionable insights.
A team-mindset: someone with positive energy who is motivated, collaborative, and has high personal accountability, good interpersonal skills, and a focus on continuous improvement.
A positive, agile, and flexible mindset: someone who is good under pressure and able to shift an approach as project needs change.
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated written, engaging, and confident oral presentation skills both internally (Givaudan colleagues) and externally (our customers).
