Chrysalis Center, a leading nonprofit in Hartford, CT, is looking for a dynamic, talented individual to join their Finance team as the Senior Staff Accountant. The Senior Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing the bi-weekly payroll for the Agency. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing essential month-end closing and specialized accounting work required to maintain the agency’s general ledger, supporting Human Resources as related to employee benefits, new hires, FMLA tracking and terminations, and working with the Director of Finance to support the monthly close process and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher, with five or more year’s progressive payroll accounting experience, intermediate to advanced computer proficiency - Sage-Abila MIP Fund Accounting software system knowledge preferred. Also needed is a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ability to perform mathematical computations, analyze data and exhibit strong problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a deadline driven environment.
