Position Title: Senior Services Regional Coordinator

Program: Elderly Nutrition Program

Under the supervision and direction of the Healthy Aging Manager, organizes, administers and implements outreach and educational activities of the Elderly Nutrition Program, which may include client intake and services, basic administrative duties, and the preparation of timely service reports. Responsibilities include establishing strong working relationships with community partners, participation client outreach at congregate meal sites, and coordinating health education presentations within the assigned service region. This candidate must be comfortable dealing with multiple personnel, participants, and community partners on a daily basis. This position is ideal for a motivated, proactive problem solver with strong client support and service orientation. Experience with (60+) population is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborates with the Healthy Aging Manager and the Lead Regional Coordinator in implementing goals and objectives for the assigned service region.
  • Works as liaison between the Senior Services program and city staff/community partners within the assigned region.
  • Works cooperatively with site managers to enhance and innovate meal and social programs, including special events at assigned congregate locations.
  • Creates/distributes outreach and educational materials within their assigned region, both virtually and in person.
  • Follows up on referrals and inquiries received from city partners, including Parks & Recreation, Senior Centers and other community partners.
  • Assists with problem solving and identifies resolutions and opportunities for growth.
  • Recruit participants, volunteers, and resources to enhance client experience.
  • Assists with client intakes, gathering necessary information by home visits, walk-ins, via telephone or by mail.
  • Provides excellent customer service in terms of deliveries, congregate meals received, schedule changes and customer satisfaction.
  • Reviews and processes site volunteer applications, assists with maintaining volunteer time sheets and schedules.
  • Assists in the coordination of the Healthy Aging, SNAP Ed, and similar programs, as needed.
  • Assists in report preparation as required by various funding sources, as needed.
  • Functions as a knowledgeable source of information for the Elderly Nutrition Program and Healthy Aging Program.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years prior nonprofit, social services, and/or community relations experience required.
  • The ability to compose basic administrative correspondence accurately; proficient in use of 10-key and other office equipment; intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn and use the PC hardware and software.
  • Proficient in English grammar and spelling with excellent oral and written communications.
  • Exhibits cultural sensitivity/humility and provides culturally responsive customer service.
  • Willingness to attend training seminars and meetings outside normal working hours.
  • Must have a proactive and positive attitude toward clients, colleagues, board members, and community partners.
