Summary/Purpose
This position has responsibility for monitoring and leading supply risk resolution projects for JTEKT North America and Koyo Bearings North America manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for leading cross functional discussions and ensuring that supply risk issues are documented and reported to internal executive leadership and customers. This position will assist in a leadership role and drive mitigation plans to avoid supply risk shutdowns for our facilities and our customers. In addition to the risk responsibilities, this position will support other activities including, but not be limited to, conflict minerals reporting, supplier sustainability assessments, and assist with developing and enhancing analytical tools and processes to better support purchasing functions. This position is a leadership role and will require cross-functional background as this function takes on numerous special assignments as the company requires. Applicant must be comfortable with presenting to executive level leadership.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

• Supply Risk for Purchasing team
• Lead designated supply risk issues to resolution ensuring compliance and notification of any supply risk inclusive of mitigation plans, escalation
• Continually monitor news and publications for potential supply risk issues
• Track overall timing and ensure buyers and PC (MP&L) participation
• Ensure adherence to supply risk process
• Draft and send out supplier surveys to gather feedback and analyze potential JTEKT supply risk exposure to company business continuity
• Create corrective action plans to mitigate any risk identified at the sub-supplier level to shipment of Finished Good to JTEKT customers
• Utilize risk assessment tools to monitor and verify supplier risk feedback and exposure to crisis events
• Track and support cost recovery of all extraordinary expenses incurred to protect JTEKT supply (e.g., Air Freight, Rework, Obsolescence costs)
• Conflict Minerals Reporting
• Coordinate with management on JTEKT supply base information gathering to satisfy conflict mineral reporting activities
• Support the compilation of results from supply base for all conflict minerals that are contained in each of our parts
• Sustainability Reporting
• Support sustainability compliance to all JTEKT customer requirements, inclusive of but not limited to the following:
• Conflict Minerals
• Corporate Social Responsibility (e.g., Child Labor, Indentured Servitude, etc.)
• Diversity
• EHS
• Coordinate with management on JTEKT supply base information gathering and compilation of results
• Document all processes and results in support of future audits
• Supply Chain Mapping
• Support supply chain mapping for all JTEKT components and parts (i.e., Tier X to JTEKT Direct Supply Base)
• Ensure to a minimum that supplier mapping in conducted annually and data is available to provide to our customers at their request
• Work with Purchasing Manager to enhance current processes and data analytic tools/reports
• Lead special assignments that come in from JTEKT customers
• Support purchasing audit and implementing corrective actions in purchasing organization
• Function will support interface with IT on using and implementing data analytics for purchasing reporting
• Other purchasing related special assignments inclusive of process improvement and implementation

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum of 4+ years of MP&L/PC Experience, direct material purchasing experience a plus.
• Ability to identify key purchasing related issues, and then apply problem solving skills to creatively resolve complex procurement related issues.
• Ability to understand and anticipate technical issues and interface internally within JTEKT/Koyo and with suppliers to implement corrective actions at the earliest possible stage.
• Ability to function successfully with considerable latitude and require technical guidance only on unusually complex problems or issues.
• Ability to work in a participative management environment and maintain a drive for accomplishment of responsibilities.
• Data analytic skills inclusive of strong proficiency with Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
• Experience operating in Oracle is a plus.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• On site travel will be required for issues that can’t be resolved remotely

Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance
