Crossbow Therapeutics is an early-stage, stealth-mode oncology startup, founded and funded by MPM Capital. Crossbow is using antibody engineering to target the untapped universe of intracellular cancer targets. We are looking for a (Senior) Research Associate to join our Antibody Discovery and Protein Engineering group. This is a great opportunity to join our growing talented and motivated team!

QUALIFICATIONS

• We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is comfortable working in the fast-paced environment
• Experience in protein purification using AKTA chromatography systems. Knowledge of analytical techniques used for protein characterization (SEC, CEX, HIC, SDS-PAGE, ELISA and others) is a plus
• Hands-on experience expressing and purifying antibodies and/or other proteins using bacterial and mammalian cell culture
• Experience with mammalian suspension cell culture, such as CHO cells, is preferred
• The hands-on experience with the Agilent HPLC systems is a plus
• Proactive, attentive to details and eager to learn new techniques while maintaining a certain level of independence
• Ability to identify problems, communicate them to the team in a timely manner, make recommendations and implement solutions

REQUIREMENTS

• B.S./M.S. in biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, protein chemistry or related fields (non-PhD position)
• Prior experience working the research lab in industry or academic setting
• U.S. work permit is required
• Previous lab safety training/experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support various projects with diverse antibody engineering needs including expression, purification, and characterization
• Perform biochemical analyses and biophysical characterization of antibodies and other proteins via SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and different types of chromatography
• With minimal guidance, conduct experiments according to established protocols. Contribute to the development of new protocols
• Record experimental data in lab notebooks and report findings to appropriate individuals
• Analyze data, interpret results, present data and findings in group meetings
• Perform general laboratory housekeeping and assist with the lab management for the group
• Review, comprehend and comply with all SOP's and internal guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
