Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Product Security Engineer will contribute broadly to the Product Security Team and product development groups by designing, building, and operating PKI and Hardware Security Module (HSM) based solutions for our current and next-generation surgical robotic systems and internal product development and manufacturing processes. The successful candidate must excel in a high-energy team environment and have a commitment to high product quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, development, and process management for PKI, Cryptography, and HSM based solutions and features.
  • HSM engineering and administration of encryption and key management services and infrastructure.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Hardware Security Modules (HSM’s) for highest level of private key protection and security. Utilizing MofN quorums, operation, logging, and audit compliance. Generate, maintain, migrate, and destroy cryptographic keys of various lengths and types using HSM.
  • Design and development of security solutions and services for our current and next-generation surgical robotic systems and internal product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead or participate in key generation, migration, destroy, and signing processes and ceremonies.
  • Technical requirements, architecture, and interface design for the security solutions and services.
  • Contribute to the verification and validation of the security solutions and services.
  • Contribute to the triaging, analysis and investigation of the product security issues.
  • Contribute to the overall objectives of Product Security Team and product development groups to achieve highest level of product security, secure product development and manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (MS degree is a plus), with minimum of 5 years of professional experience in product security domain.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining PKI and HSM based solutions.
  • Expertise in the end-to-end administration of hardware security modules, encryption devices, and key stores.
  • In-depth knowledge of current commercial off the shelf PKI and HSM products.
  • Experience on working with HSM and CA interfaces (e.g., PKCS#11, Microsoft CAPI, JCE, KMIP, EJBCA, SCEP, OCSP).
  • In-depth knowledge of product security concepts, hardware security modules, public key infrastructure, authorization and authentication, trust chains, and certificate management.
  • In-depth knowledge of embedded systems, software, and hardware-software interfaces.
  • Experience on development with C/C++ and scripting/automation in Python, bash/ksh and other scripting languages.
  • Experience on secure coding practices, code analysis and reviews, and vulnerability triage.
  • Good understanding of product development, manufacturing, software build and release processes is a plus.
  • Experience with Active Directory and OKTA integrations is a plus.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated; ability to work under general supervision; receptive and supportive of team efforts.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed below:

Base Salary Range Region 1:$165,600 - $238,400
Base Salary Range Region 2: $140,800 - $202,600
