Summary

Leads multi-discipline and/or multi-utility Internal/External audit teams, both domestically and internationally, providing technical, programmatic, organizational guidance, and leadership ensuring an effective evaluation of the organization and/or supplier. Independently performs source verifications of manufacturing facilities. Coordinates and performs surveillance activities in support of operation, maintenance, and modifications of PVGS. Conducts audits and prepares audit reports for evaluation/use and regularly interfaces with regulatory agencies, nuclear utilities, nuclear suppliers, and/or PVGS senior, executive, and line management. This position provides the individual flexibility for work location and a self-directed work environment.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and eight (8) years nuclear power plant experience of which five (5) years shall be in Quality Assurance or an Associates Degree and ten (10) years nuclear power plant experience; of which six (6) years shall be in Quality Assurance or high school/GED and twelve (12) years nuclear power plant experience of which seven (7) years shall be in Quality Assurance. Qualified to ANSI N45.2.23 and/or ASME NQA-1-2008 with NQA-1a-2009 Addenda, as Lead Auditor with five (5) years of Audit Team Lead, project management or lead assessor experience. Must have extensive knowledge of the codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.


Nuclear requirement: Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. This is a condition of employment at PVGS. Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVGS employees.


PREFERRED SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, OR QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive knowledge of codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to research regulations and requirements. Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to convey complex/technical content in a coherent manner. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to develop and write technical documentation/reports.

Major Accountabilities

  • Leads multi-discipline/multi-utility audit teams in evaluating the organization's and/or supplier's QA Program. Performs audits, surveys, surveillances and maintains qualifications in accordance with PVGS Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) and ASME NQA-1-2008 and NQA-1a-2009.
  • Independently perform source verifications of manufacturing facilities.
  • Independently review results of audits and source verifications and provide accurate, complete and timely reports to regulatory agencies, nuclear utilities, nuclear suppliers and Palo Verde senior, executive and line management.
  • Develop and implement audit plans/checklists, source verifications and coordinate organizational and/or supplier support.
  • Interface with station and supplier management, up to and including officers of the company to assess, categorize, evaluate, and report conditions adverse to quality.
  • Ensure timely follow-up including evaluations of root cause and effectiveness of corrective actions taken to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Provide technical, programmatic, and organizational direction/guidance to supplier and/or organizational personnel.

Flex Role:
This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work. Employees will have two options to choose from:

  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.

  • Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
